Dear Isabela | I went back to work this week, baby girl.

Baby girl, I went back to work this week. It was a decision I needed to make, and I think it was a good one for me. 

It feels horrible getting back to real life when you aren't here with me, but it has been so good to see my coworkers and the kiddos and their families that Momma gets to help everyday. 

Your lamb plushie has been sitting on my desk while I work. I hug it throughout the day, just to feel close to you. 

I hope you're proud of me. It has been hard and I am on a rollercoaster of emotions, but I have been pushing through. I think I am going to be okay, which makes me sad because I don't want to move on without you, but if anything, I need to be okay for you. 

Momma loves you, Isabela, forever and ever.

The other day I was going through Goodreads, picking out books I wanted to add to my library wishlist (I always say, searching for books is a completely separate hobby from reading, lol!). I came across Fredrick Bachman's newest release,  Anxious People . I always look at the quotes page to see if I vibe with the author's writing style. Man, does this book have some nuggets of wisdom! There are so many poignant quotes. This one resonated with me, just thinking about how overwhelming life can get when all those little things pile up: "Because the terrible thing about becoming an adult is being forced to realize that absolutely nobody cares about us, we have to deal with everything ourselves now, find out how the whole world works. If you and I had coffee, we would likely get a table outside. Mask mandates have been lifted here, so we would be able to feel a bit "normal" while sitting at a coffee shop with our drinks. I would probably put way too much creamer or syrup in my coffee, and you'd tease me and ask if I want some coffee with my cream. I'd roll my eyes but laugh because you're right. I love me a good indulgent coffee. It's the one "unhealthy" thing I won't budge on.  We would catch up, since it's probably been a really long time since we have gotten together in person. We'd agree that while facetime/ Zoom chats were an okay substitute, nothing compares to face-to-face girl time.  I'd tell you about how the weight on my shoulders feels a bit less "heavy" even though every now and again there are still some really dark days. The best news I could ever share.

I haven't posted in a while. But, it's been for a really good reason, I promise. "For this child, we have prayed, and the Lord has granted us the desires of our heart." Someone pinch me... I can't believe this is real. I  feel so blessed and unbelievably happy that I get to share some wonderful news- we are expecting our first baby! We are so excited to finally be parents. I'm due early September and can honestly say that it can't come soon enough.  ❤ We can't wait to meet you, little one. Mommy and Daddy (and Cooper, too) have prayed for you, for so long.
