My Top Favorite Binge Shows

Hey everyone! For today's Let's Look At..., we are talking about our favorite binge shows. 

This month's topic was MADE for me... we don't have cable, so we rely on Netflix and our Firestick for all our entertainment needs. I LOVE that because my favorite way to consume TV is by binging and watching shows straight through. I barely even remember what it was like to watch TV pre-streaming when we used to have to wait a week between shows! Even if we were watching a TV show on live TV, we would save it for when it came onto Netflix so we could watch it in one go. In my opinion, it makes the whole experience so much more immersive and cohesive! Anyway, enough blabbing from me...here are my favorite binge-worthy shows.

Big Little Lies 
Before we cut cable, we used to watch many more TV shows. It was a fun thing to do with my hubby, to dissect and theorize what would happen next. We have a Firestick now and other means of watching TV shows that are currently on the air so we honestly don't miss it- the boring, repetitive programs or the ridiculously high price tag. 

 I can't wait to see what everyone else lists! I'm always on the hunt for a new show to try.

Friday Favorites! A hodge podge of random things

The other day I was going through Goodreads, picking out books I wanted to add to my library wishlist (I always say, searching for books is a completely separate hobby from reading, lol!). I came across Fredrick Bachman's newest release,  Anxious People . I always look at the quotes page to see if I vibe with the author's writing style. Man, does this book have some nuggets of wisdom! There are so many poignant quotes. This one resonated with me, just thinking about how overwhelming life can get when all those little things pile up: "Because the terrible thing about becoming an adult is being forced to realize that absolutely nobody cares about us, we have to deal with everything ourselves now, find out how the whole world works. Work and pay bills, use dental floss and get to meetings on time, stand in line and fill out forms, come to grips with cables and put furniture together, change tires on the car and charge the phone and switch the coffee machine off and not forget...

If you and I had coffee, we would likely get a table outside. Mask mandates have been lifted here, so we would be able to feel a bit "normal" while sitting at a coffee shop with our drinks. I would probably put way too much creamer or syrup in my coffee, and you'd tease me and ask if I want some coffee with my cream. I'd roll my eyes but laugh because you're right. I love me a good indulgent coffee. It's the one "unhealthy" thing I won't budge on.  We would catch up, since it's probably been a really long time since we have gotten together in person. We'd agree that while facetime/ Zoom chats were an okay substitute, nothing compares to face-to-face girl time.  I'd tell you about how the weight on my shoulders feels a bit less "heavy" even though every now and again there are still some really dark days. Friday Favorites! | CEUs, recipes, new jeans, eating healthy and my new raincoat!

Hello everyone! This is my first Friday Favorites in a while, and I'm so happy to be back at it. This week was a doozy- work was insanely busy. I'm so glad its the weekend and I'm looking forward to having the time to clean my home, do laundry, walk my dog, and do some good binge watching on Netflix. Bring on the weekend! Free Continuing Education credits. I went to a continuing education workshop this week and at the end of the event, the presenter shared that she does a free journal club monthly, in which once a month she hosts a webinar meeting to discuss a published article in our field that everyone reads before the meeting. I was so pleased to find it was a free CEU event, and that I could get 12 of these CEs per year if I participate monthly. That's a huge deal! Normally CEUs range from $25.00- $100.00, so the fact that I can get almost half of my required CEs for free is so awesome. I'm really excited for our December meeting!  Sandy's Kit...
