Let's Chat Books | No. 2 | Dilemmas of a Book Nerd tag

This is a fun one! I can't remember if I found this on a blog or YouTube, but here is my take on the dilemmas of a book nerd tag. Dilemma #1: Book Storag e – How do you store and organize your books?  Just a normal old bookshelf. I am shopping around for a new one. I've had this shelf since I was about 5 years old. As far as organization, he top of the bookshelf is my Harry Potter collection, then the next two shelves are my mystery/thriller Book of the Month collection, followed by Contemporary/ Romance BOTM shelf, my YA/ Fantasy BOTM shelf, and finally the last two shelves are random paperbacks/ short hardbacks that I have collected over the years. I created in my Kindle shelves for different genres and organize my ebooks that way. Dilemma #2: Tracking – How do you keep track of what you have read and what books you own?  I use Goodreads to track what I have read. I don't usually track what books I own or haul. Dilemma #3: Borrow – Do you lend your books out?  Yes

Recent Reads | December 2019 & early January 2020

Hi everyone, I'm back again to talk recent reads with Steph and Jana and the Show Us Your Books link up. I didn't do one of these at all in the fall, because I hit a reading slump in late August that lasted until early December. I kept picking up books, putting them down, and starting new ones. It was a mess and I'm so glad that I'm back to my reading routine. But last month, once I started reading, I couldn't stop- I read 7 books in December and early January! The Bromance Book Club.   I just gushed about this book ad nauseam in my yearly favorites post - all that matters is that I adored it and you should totally read it!   The Obsession.   Naomi has been running from her past- and infamous serial killer father- her whole life, ever since saving his victim's life and turning him in when she was a little girl. A successful photographer, Naomi takes up a nomad's life for years, until she falls in love with an old bed and breakfast and decides to fix

2019 goal recap and 2020 goals.

I know I just wrote a goal-centered blog post recapping December and planning for January, but I wanted to recap how I did with  2019's goals  and also share what I am setting out to accomplish in 2020.  2019 goals recap and update: Stick to an evening and morning routine(s).  I did pretty well with this. I always go to bed with a clean kitchen/ living space unless I'm not feeling well or extremely lazy, and I try my hardest to "get ready" in the mornings before work. It's really helped me from not always having to rush out the door like a hot mess. I've even gotten in the habit of prepping my lunch and snacks as well (although not as often as I'd like). It's a game changer.  Read every night before bed.  This goal went really well until August. I didn't finish another book until December after that! I couldn't get into anything I picked up. I am going to keep this in my goals for this year. Reading helps me to win

Monthly To-Do's | December update and January goals

Let's see how I did with my goals for December and talk about my goals for January.  December Goals:  finish decluttering my kitchen cabinets.   Check! We are officially decluttered. It feels so dang good to have space in my cupboards.  scrub down the kitchen cabinets.   Check! I'm so happy this finally got done, ya'll. It had been on my to-do list for weeks.  finish Christmas shopping by the 20th. NOPE.  This didn't get checked off... I didn't even start my shopping until the 20th. Have I mentioned that I DESPISE shopping for Christmas presents?    purchase a fiddle leaf fig for my living room.   Check! I found this one on QVC for under $40.00 because of Black Friday and a discount for my first ever purchase from there. At 5' tall, it was such a steal! I can't wait to put it in my living room/ kitchen. It will replace where the Christmas tree is right now.  try 3 new recipes.   Check! I made the best chicken salad ever,
