About Me

Hi! My name is Felicia, and welcome to my blog. I'm so glad you stopped by! I'm a 31-year-old wife, dog mom, angel mama, and young professional from Massachusetts, just trying to figure life out day by day.

I am a big reader & always have been. You can usually find me with a book in one hand & a coffee in the other. I love sitcoms, the beach, Gilmore Girls, bookstores, calligraphy, the Patriots, 90's grunge music, thriller novels, making lists, The Big Bang Theory, *NSYNC, baseball hats, neutral colors, & taste-testing calamari from different restaurants. And, if you ever can't find me, odds are I'm at Target or Barnes and Noble. 
I've been married to my sweet husband for almost 4 years now. It's been so fun, and I am beyond grateful for all our adventures. He definitely brings out the best parts of me and I couldn't have asked for a better partner to "do life" with. Together, we are slowly fixing up our first home, a cozy raised-ranch with a river view in the suburbs, as we grow our family. 
On December 28, 2020, we found out we were pregnant after struggling with infertility for nearly 2 years. Our baby was a miracle! We soon discovered we were having a baby girl and named her Isabela Rose. However, on May 2nd, 2020, we sadly lost our beautiful daughter when I went in to preterm labor at only 21 weeks and 5 days. She lived for 1 hour and 45 minutes in the arms of the two people who loved more than anything in the world. My husband and I are heartbroken and miss her so much, but we try everyday to honor her in small ways. One of the ways I do that is by writing her letters and decorating her nursery. In Isabela's short time here on Earth, she was a very loved little girl and I pray everyday that she knows that. 

In addition to our daughter, we have 2 other important members of the crew... our pups. I may be biased when I say this, but Cooper and Molly are basically the cutest dogs ever. They are brother and sister from the same litter. Cooper (the black pup) has more sass than he knows what do with. Molly (the white and brown pup) is a sweet, timid girl, who loves to cuddle. You can read about how we got Cooper and all that we learned as first-time puppy parents here. I post pictures of them regularly, so you'll get plenty of updates about these two cuties on my blog.

Friday Favorites! A hodge podge of random things

The other day I was going through Goodreads, picking out books I wanted to add to my library wishlist (I always say, searching for books is a completely separate hobby from reading, lol!). I came across Fredrick Bachman's newest release,  Anxious People . I always look at the quotes page to see if I vibe with the author's writing style. Man, does this book have some nuggets of wisdom! There are so many poignant quotes. This one resonated with me, just thinking about how overwhelming life can get when all those little things pile up: "Because the terrible thing about becoming an adult is being forced to realize that absolutely nobody cares about us, we have to deal with everything ourselves now, find out how the whole world works. Work and pay bills, use dental floss and get to meetings on time, stand in line and fill out forms, come to grips with cables and put furniture together, change tires on the car and charge the phone and switch the coffee machine off and not forget

If you and I had coffee, we would likely get a table outside. Mask mandates have been lifted here, so we would be able to feel a bit "normal" while sitting at a coffee shop with our drinks. I would probably put way too much creamer or syrup in my coffee, and you'd tease me and ask if I want some coffee with my cream. I'd roll my eyes but laugh because you're right. I love me a good indulgent coffee. It's the one "unhealthy" thing I won't budge on.  We would catch up, since it's probably been a really long time since we have gotten together in person. We'd agree that while facetime/ Zoom chats were an okay substitute, nothing compares to face-to-face girl time.  I'd tell you about how the weight on my shoulders feels a bit less "heavy" even though every now and again there are still some really dark days. The best news I could ever share.

I haven't posted in a while. But, it's been for a really good reason, I promise. "For this child, we have prayed, and the Lord has granted us the desires of our heart." Someone pinch me... I can't believe this is real. I  feel so blessed and unbelievably happy that I get to share some wonderful news- we are expecting our first baby! We are so excited to finally be parents. I'm due early September and can honestly say that it can't come soon enough.  ❤ We can't wait to meet you, little one. Mommy and Daddy (and Cooper, too) have prayed for you, for so long. You are already so incredibly loved.  ❤ (I'm so sorry if my announcement causes anyone any pain. I know the feeling of going to bed every night feeling hopeless and empty.
