Happy Friday, friends! Why do 4 day work weeks feel longer than the regular week?! I'm super thankful the weekend is here, that's for sure. I have a super short post today for my Friday favorites... here were some of the "highs" from this week. First up... the weekend is here! The most obvious favorite of all.  On Memorial Day we hung out with friends at their house, grilling food and chatting on the deck. It was an awesome way to wrap up our vacation week. There was the most beautiful sunset and I managed to snap this  photo. It just made me smile, so I wanted to share it with everyone.  I've been pretty bummed about returning to "reality" and the usual worries this week but was comforted when I saw this on Instagram. I grabbed dinner with friends twice this week! It definitely made the transition back to work much easier, giving me something to look forward to at the end of the day (and it forced me to leave work on time!).  This one's

HOW is it almost June? I can't believe how time is flying this year. Regardless, here is what's been going on in May...  What we're eating this week... We are a bit backed up on HelloFresh meals in the fridge, so we've been finishing off last week's box- pork carnitas tacos & Korean-style chicken and rice bowls. Our next order that comes in on Thursday has recipes/ ingredients for sausage and spring pea risotto, blackened chicken penne, and crusty maple mustard chicken. Yum! I love this service. If you're interested, you can read my detailed review that I wrote   here .  What I'm reminiscing about... The Big Bang Theory...   I'm so sad that the series is over. It was a huge part of my life, and something that no matter what, my husband and I made time to watch and discuss together. I loved   Penny's post  talking about the end of the series- I felt the exact same way. It was neat for her to include fun facts about the show as well.

DIYs, long walks, Newport, entryway refresh, and a low-key Memorial Day

Happy Monday, friends! It was a busy weekend at our house, chalk full with home projects and date nights.  On Saturday morning, Cooper and I met Lauren and her Peanut for a long walk on the trail. I ended up carrying him for some of it because it was too long of a walk for his teeny legs. 5 pounds isn't heavy, but hold 5 pounds for 30 minutes in your arms and you'll start to feel it, that's for sure! At one point, he ended up in the stroller. It was too cute not to snap a photo.  How funny is this...  After our walk, I did some cleaning around the house and started laundry while my husband, father-in-law, and brothers-in-law worked on leveling out the yard and building a foundation for his new shed. Cooper hung out with the boys on his new yard leash. I ended up dusting, sweeping, and mopping the entryway, and added some cute pieces to the space. It looks much more "finished" now.  For lunch, I made a HelloFresh meal, pork tacos. They were so del

Happy Friday, ya'll!  These posts are always a good opportunity to take a step back and take inventory of all the amazing things that have been happening lately. I'm excited to share some of them with you!  Vacation. I was off this week, and so was my husband! I had been debating not taking time off since I had taken bereavement the week before, but I couldn't pass up quality time with my better half, when we get so little of it during the regular work week. I am so glad I did. I felt guilty at first, but I needed this break. I feel refreshed and ready to get back into the swing of things with my clients and staff.  Refinishing our kitchen table. I might make this a separate post altogether, but on my week's vacation from work I refinished, stained, and painted our kitchen table, chairs, and bench. It was SO. MUCH WORK. But, I gotta admit, I loved it. I think I've found a new hobby. I will add the after picture to this post once its done! "Before"
